1.the act of standing up to look at your cell phone, thus making you look ridiculous.
2.checking your cell phone when a similar sounding phone tones in the vicinity. generally, this act is attributed to nextel phone users because all nextels sound the same for the walkie-talkie feature, you know? the whole reason you bought the outrageously priced phone and confusing service contract.
nextel phone:”beep beep”
every nextel owner in the room:”is that you?”
thusly, everyone does the nextel shuffle to check their phones.
