similar to obfuscate, but instead of completely obscuring important or sensitive details from a doc-ment, only obvious details are obscured.
that top secret nsa doc-ment was merely obviscated and thus revealed the name of the target; this was due to the incompetence of whoever failed to properly redact the pdf before publishing it for the world to see.
