a genre of movies most popular in the 1970s in which the lead character (or someone close to the lead) is victimized by a crime followed by an extended period of revenge upon the victimizer/s
revengeploitation films feature three main attributes – the original crime – the victim or the victim’s avenger hunting down the perpetrators – the ultimate vengeance
some of the better known examples of revengeploitation would be kill bill, death wish and i spit on your grave
some people like revenge-themed movies like old boy but i prefer my revengeploitation films to be grittier and nastier. give me last house on the left.

to retaliate against someone who has dissed you or made a snide comment directed at you. “after joe made a crack about my mama, i was determined to serve up a return burn about his acne.”
