Second Child Syndrome
in a family of two children, the oldest child might appear to be perfect in every way to the parents, whereas the younger sibling is much more boisterous and less well behaved.
often times parents will abstain from having anymore children after their second born, out of fear that their already problemed child might also develop middle child syndrome.
mom:i don’t get it. when tom was in grade 5, he was getting a’s in every single subject, but jeremy is only getting b’s and c’s. he even got suspended twice this year, whereas tom never even had to go to the office once.
dad:it’s probably because tom is suffering from second child syndrome.
