selecta
dj – one who selects the tunes. normally used in ragga, drum n b-ss and garage

originaly, selector (selecta) is the one who selects and p-sses the records (vinyls) to the guy that is playing them on the soundsystem. it originated in reggae/danchall music, but nowdays the word is used to describe a dj (wich is wrong – but accepted)
used in many songs.. rewind selecta, pull up selecta, bo selecta,…
simply another word for a dj. often used in electronic music, but sometimes used for rap and anything else involving live concerts and vinyls.

2. (alternate definition) a dj mix control used to select between multiple inputs on a single fader channel. also can be used as a makeshift kill switch for cutting sounds while mixing/scratching
