this often uncontrollable disorder is the act of continuously and repet-tiously highlighting random bits of computer-based text with a mouse and cursor while reading the text, causing a continually changing blue-box selection outline to appear over the inverted text.
while this act of visual obsessive compulsion is calming to the individual with mouse control, it can often be frustrating and debilitating to anyone observing the act or attempting to read the material on a shared computer screen.
this disorder can be troublesome when text is editable because text is often accidentally dragged into different areas unbeknownst to the suffering individual.
nate had trouble reading the computer text over greg’s shoulder because he was deep into a selection loop.
