(verb) to shelf park is to perform the practice of placing a sp-ce-consuming item (usually one that can be situated there for a justifiably significant amount of time such as a jug of milk or a box of beer) on a refrigerator shelf for the purpose of securing capacity for a potential future sp-ce-consuming food product to occupy.
