to shout to the devil is to do something that you obviously believe makes you seem cool, or above others, when it in fact, is not.

a phrase one may use to “punk” a friend who as just done/said something making them look/sound like a hard-ss.

often used while simultaneously flashing a “rock on” sign to the offender.
