Sitting on Salt
giving a great deal of thought to something, whether it be something quite insignificant, or a life-altering choice that has to be made. often accompanied by a vacant stare into the room.
sitting on salt may have two fall-outs.
1) you may find a positive conclusion and end up “using the salt” for something useful,
2) you may come to a negative conclusion and end up throwing salt in your own wounds.
sitting on salt about anything for a long period of time is disadvised.
huh? oh, sorry! i was just sitting on salt, i guess…
