skank shift
a waitstaff shift occurring during a late weekday night, ie: midnight to six a.m. on a wednesday. named so because these are the less-desirable (lower-paying) shifts usually worked by the less-desirable (aesthetically-challenged) servers. term popularized in the movie “swingers.”
there aren’t going to be any hot waitresses at the casino tonight; it’s the wednesday night sk-nk shift.
