Social Media Hostage


you have embraced social media, and are enthusiastically integrating it into your work and personal life. suddenly you find yourself friended and followed by someone you are unable to comfortably deny. you become a social media hostage when one of these unwanted friends/followers turns into a facebook stalker or full-blown social media stalker.
ann: he friended me on facebook and followed me on twitter…and i felt i had to accept. now he’s annoying as h-ll, and i can’t comfortably unfriend or block him.

amy: i had that happen with a manager at work. i became a social media hostage, and there was nothing i could do about it.
