when something is stretched too thin, it is unbearable or uncomfortable. stretch too thin is also said of a person who tries to do many things at the same time and cannot give enought time or attention to any of them
i’m burdened with my solitude, stretched too thin to bear.
i realized i’ve been spreading myself too thin, so i resigned as secretary of the golf club
