Sucker begging
speaking casually about your money woes in the hopes that the person you’re talking to will volunteer to help you out financially. begging without begging.
lawrence: eric called me yesterday talking about how he didn’t know where he was going to get the money to pay his phone bill. he just went on and on about it. i felt bad for the man, so i volunteered to loan him the money.
brandy: he does that all the time. he was sucker begging. he never asks for money directly.
