during the chistmas season, pets and small children eat the shiny long strips of tinsel people used to decorate with, and p-ss them partially, leaving a series of strung festive t-rds connected to the -n-s,which must be pulled out by mom when concerning kids, and by dad when it’s the doggy. this happened more often than not in the ’70s; more of a rare occurrence nowadays, as tinsel isn’t so popular.
