To buss a George
a slang verb that is specific to the youth of antigua and barbuda, referring to the act of appearing somewhere, usually someone else’s place of residence, uninvited, or of inviting one’s self to a place.
the term has also sp-wned a related noun, ‘george’, which has a very different meaning in antigua and barbuda than in the united states and other countries. the antigua-&-barbuda-specific definition refers to an individual who often invites him/herself to places.
the term was first coined by the youth of the syrian population of antigua and eventually spread to all other youth demographics in the country. it is used both as an insult and in a casual manner.
“i’m tired of michael. he’s such a george. he’s randomly shown up at my house twice this past week.”
“no, the party is all the way in all saints. i’m just going to buss a george by chris tonight. he wouldn’t mind.”
