the best black drummer to ever grace the drums, hands down. no other drummer was as versatile in so many styles as he, and it is a shame that he was taken from us so early.
what does miles davis, eric dolphy, herbie hanc-ck, ron carter, jackie mclean, kenny dorham, wayne shorter, and wynton marsalis all have in common? they all had the privilege of playing with tony williams.
