an unofficial date is when it is basically going on a date but when you were asked it wasn’t said that it was actually a date.

kevin: hey do you want to do a project for school with me.?
allie: yea sure, but can go to the movies or something like shopping after?
kevin: yea that would be fun and we can get some lunch and everything. how about tomorrow?
