an acronym for vanish (from the) face (of the) earth. the act of dissapearing from the radar screen when it comes to bill collectors, crazed ex-lovers, etc. accomplished by hiding behind caller id, avoiding the use of your front door, not signing for certified/registered mail, wearing disguises, etc.
