a viral trend that usually originated in america and eventually nosedives into a pile of one-hit wonders because it failed to become a meme. the motion became popular with planking and the harlem shake but was boosted by vine(rip) with songs emerging like the schmoney dance or watch me whip/nae nae. it is a vicious cycle that happens every few months when someone tries to kick start a challenge in pursuit for internet fame but gets overshadowed by another.
