the movie last night was completely whelming.
i thought i would be excited by the fair, but i was whelmed at best.
verb. to whelm. when someone or something is distinctly average and you are not moved by him/it at all.
you need to do more than just whelm them in your interview. you need to be unforgettable.

“he was okay. i was whelmed.”

not technically a word, but by all logic, it should be.
