wonderness
the tour-like pointing/acknowledgement of unnoteworthy objects in an to attempt to over enhance a simple spectacle/visual experience. i have actually used the term “wonderment” for years within my family, but it was already taken at this site.
to ensure wonderness, my husband said “hey kids…look at that inflatable snowman” while driving by the countless houses that also have inflatable snowmen. while on vacation in the country, “hey, look at those cows and horses, they are probably going to eat that bale of hay soon” added to the wonderness of the trip. in the spirit of wonderness, the teacher said “students, please look at how big that dinosaur is”!! “big, ben…parliament” as in “national lampoon’s vacation” is an example of wonderness. again, wonderment is the preferred term.
