Wyandotte, Oklahoma
very small town in extreme ne oklahoma in ottawa county. named after the wyandotte indian tribe whose tribal headquarters are located on highway 60. has a large school system for its size. students do very well in sports and academically. crime is extremely low. definitely has a ‘small-town’ feel–think mayberry. the town has one 4-way stop, one bank, two restaurants, five churches, along with the wyandotte tribe’s ‘turtle stop’ convenience store and the wyandotte tribe’s casino. twin bridges state park is about 2 miles west of town.
