a slang word most commonly used in britain and australia.

a large american car. usually has a large v8, handles like an aircraft carrier and gets extremely bad fuel consumption.

basically any car that has been produced out of america from the 60’s on, but some before then.

some are:
older dodges
buicks
cadillacs
some chevrolets
newer oldsmobiles (especially 1977 oldsmobile cutl-ss)
plymoths (excluding prowler)
imperials
etc
(while driving a cadillac or any other yank tank)
uh-oh, a corner. might as well get out and walk.
an older american vehicle (yank), which are known for being very fuel-inefficient, really large (tank) and often very uniquely designed. most yanktanks were produced before the 1973 fuel crisis, but some are still produced today (lincoln town car and ford crown victoria for instance).

some however think that the size of the engine of an yanktank should be given in cubic inches, and if it isn’t it’s not a real yanktank.
