a former maker of graphics processors, who dominated the 3d accelerator market from the mid-to-late 1990’s. tried to monopolise the market by buying the main board manufacturer at the time, but went out of business in late 2000 after thinking that their brand name alone would defeat nvidia and ati’s superior products.
nvidia/ati/matrox/whoever will go the way of 3dfx!
