a person awkardly there in a situation with a couple.
sarah and joe were fooling around behind the building and maggie was with them. she was so awkward, being the 3rd wheel.
laura: were you the 3rd wheel?
maggie: yeah i hate it. i always get stuck with that when they are being so couple-y.
