achievaholic
someone who is more interested in achieving a goal so as to receive merit than enjoying the process in carrying out a task or recognizing the value of the goal independent of the copious amounts of praise that s/he dreams of every night at bed time.
to an achievaholic like debbie, its more appealing to go through the process of being selected for teach for america than actually teaching for america. that’s why she’s just going to drop out of the program after the mandatory two years like everyone else.
