and wtf is this “the guy smoking on the cover of the alb-m will influence little kids”? uh little kids probably wont be listening to arctic monkeys!? would they.

arctic monkeys are a pretty sweet band
sheffield (england) band, featuring alex turner, jamie cook, andy nicholson and matt helders. universally loved for their conversational, colloquialism-heavy lyrics (bordering on the pretentious); solid rock sound and accented vocals. the band was formed around 2002, and released two uk no. 1’s in 2005. their alb-m, ‘whatever people say i am, that’s what i’m not’, was released on 23 january, 2006, and criticised by some for displaying a man smoking on the cover (to which i say: as if kids want to look like that guy!)

arctic monkeys are a uk punk/indie/alternative band. from sheffield, england. songs inc. mardy b-m, a certain romance, i bet that you look good (on the dancefloor) etc

one fantastic band- true they’re not the next beatles …

but if you listen to the lyrics: everyone who’s gone out boozing, tried to chat up someone up and got shot down, tried to get past club bouncers, been surrounded by fakes and posers, been in sh-t relationships or whatever- you can relate to them and laugh at the way alex turner presents it!

unfortunately, arctic monkeys is the victims of its own hype! hype kills bands as critics and music sn-bs alike make themselves seem so above everyone else by slating such bands and saying they haven’t lived up to their sn-bbish and superior expectations (because thy always know best!).

the truth of the matter is, am is a great original, down to earth, non-manufactured band with an extreamly talented lead singer and writer!

so i’m glad that people are sitting up and taking notice to them instead of some x factor/simon cowell reject!

oh and they are amazing live!!!

4 beautiful boys from sheffield. they write catchy songs and the nme love them (rightly so). apparently they’re awesome live. i will confirm this on march 29
arctic monkeys are soo good. can’t wait for the alb-m (jan 23 uk, jan 26 north america uk import, feb 21 north america)
