awkquaintance


an especially awkward relationship between two people who were once really, really close but suddenly stopped talking to each other for one reason or another. this could be due to a breakup, backstabbing, argument, etc.

signs of an awkquaintance include never talking to each other, awkward smiles in the hallway, and avoiding each other whenever possible.
selena: hey, i heard about your breakup with joe. are you guys still friends?
demi: not really. more like awkquaintances.

selena: oh, that sucks.

demi: yeah. omg, here he comes, let’s get out of here!
