‘bhaiya’ or ‘bhaiye/bhaiyeo/bhaiyes/bhaiyas’ (plural noun) is a term that directly translates to big brother in english, however most commonly used to address a particular set of uneducated working cl-ss of society from uttar pradesh, bihar and madhya pradesh (states in india), who are also known to chew tobacco or ‘gutka’ (crushed areca nut, tobacco, catechu, paraffin wax, slaked lime and sweet or savory flavorings.). the aforementioned working cl-ss usually comprise of daily wagers, shop servants, street vendors, cab drivers, construction workers to even high paid tech workers.
1) “yaar ab it companies mein bhi up-bihar ke bhaiye bhar g-ye hai, din bhar gutka kha te hai.”

translation: dude, now even these it companies are filled with these bhaiyes from up and bihar, all they do is chew gutka.

2) “arey yaar uss jagah mein mat jao wahan sab bhaiye aate hai.”
translation: hey!, don’t go to that place, those bhaiye come over there.

3) “bhaiya zara do suttey dena.”
translation: ‘bhaiya’ give me two cigarettes.

4)”inn bhaiyeo ne sher mein gandh macha rakha hai”
translation: these bhaiyas have made a mess out of the city.
a hindi word which means big brother, referred by hindi speakers to their elder brothers or any one older in age.
