Bring some water with ya!
this is a phrase that, standing alone, seems very innocent, but when a white, older male shouts it at an immigrant who has just said that they are heading back to their homeland soon, it becomes incredibly non-p.c. if you’re still confused, check out the example:
immigrant in america: i won’t be around for the next month. i’m traveling back to my homeland in africa.
dumb american: oh yeah? bring some water with ya!
immigrant in america: (confused look on face…thinks to self, “should i be offended?” and walks away)
(this would also work for mexican immigrants.)
