Bro Tones
short for “brotha tones”, which is a much needed term for the backup vocal parts in newer rap/hip hop music which mostly consist of short rhythmic repet-tion of words like “hey”, “what?”, “yo” etc. these are used to accentuate the beat and sometimes lends to syncopation, generally making the song more dance-able.
