any item or device used to remove the less-savory elements of routine urban life, such as crazy homeless people and garbage, from one’s sensory perception.
common examples are headphones for blocking sound and darker sungl-sses for blocking visuals.
person 1: “did you hear that tweaker flipping out on the subway on the way here? god this city is such a sh-thole!”
person 2: “nah, i had my b-m blockers in. all i heard the whole ride was my music.”
