burp and tuck
the act of closing a deal, usually dealing with someone who is a pain in the -ss or unreasonable. the phrase refers to putting a crying baby to sleep, burp them and tuck them away to bed.
sales person; “dave, can you help me with this customer? she is being completely unreasonable and won’t accept no for an answer.”
dave; “do you need me to give her a burp and tuck?”
