cansplaining

when someone from canada tells an america how they should feel about or react to donald trump. particularly when they suggest impractical forms of resistance that they’ve never personally tried, tell the american to put themselves in physical danger, or wave away valid concerns. the concept is similar to the idea of mansplaining.
“instead of saying you wish you could move to canada because you’re afraid that trump’s going to take your healthcare away and you’re going to literally die, you should really be doing more to resist. you should run for office. and also go to more protests. and also partic-p-te in these 800 other forms of resistance i’ve never personally tried that might get you fired, arrested or killed. and just build a bridge for no reason. i’ve decided for some reason that you’re not in any danger.”

“gee, thanks for cansplaining that to me.”
