the fear of being happy or the fear of the general feeling of happiness. a person that’s cherophobic might feel guilty about feeling happy (think they don’t deserve to be happy) and soon after become depressed or they might avoid happiness and things that might make them happy in fear of something bad happening afterwards. these people could seem completely normal and live perfectly normal lives but usually avoid hanging out with friends and or doing fun activities where they might become happy.
