cigs for nigs was a civil war policy that was set in place slightly before the end of the antebellum period. tobacco a.k.a. cigs could be traded by the plantation owner to the slave owner in exchange for nigs a.k.a. slaves. unfortunately, the n-z-s from the north freed all the slaves and cigs for nigs was no more.
