coast lily
(noun) a derogatory slang term for an urban dweller that lives on the east or west coast of the u.s., and is not knowledgeable or is out of touch with middle-american or rural concepts, hobbies, interests, work ethic or culture.
i grew up in the city and have never been to a county fair. all my buddies call me a coast lily.
this term was used in march 2018, on the tv show, timeless (episode 202, darlington 500) when wyatt said to lucy, “you really are a coast lily, aren’t you?” after she noted she had no understanding of nascar racing.
