having a business conversation on the phone while in a coffee shop. requires the coffeeconee to look and act more serious than other patrons in the shop and walk around looking for the one spot in the joint where the background music cannot be heard. also involves cupping one’s hand over the microphone to reduce background noise.
jane reluctantly agreed to the coffeecon even though she knew the background noise would include more alt-rock music than her co-workers would care to listen to.
