unlike colloquialisms, a coleisim are words or phrases that are typically used within the law enforcement community. they are not words or phrases used in typically ordinary or familiar conversations amongst the general public. a coleisim is best suited to informal conversations.
“if this is your first jury trial, you better head to the stores unit for your issued powdered wig. oh man that’s a coleisim if i ever heard one”!
“officer, get over fleet and ask them to put the winter air in your scout car tires. hey….i wasn’t born yesterday, if i had a dime for every coleisim i’d have enough money for an endless supply of plastic coffee”!
