Communitywashing
communitywashing is a term that describes a person, place, or thing that claims to support a community or cause, but in reality does not.
communitywashing is in the same family of armchair activists, greenwashing, or pinkwashing.
p1: “gary always says he supports (community event, cause, or point of pride), but i’ve never seen him there, have you?”
p2: “no way, he’s totally communitywashing.”
