connipsis is a combination of the words ellipsis and conniption. it is indicated by a series of three exclamation marks “!!!”. a connipsis is typically used in internet forums, sms messages, email, irc, and various other forms of electronic communication. while a typical single exclamation mark indicates strong feelings or high volume, an over usage of the punctuation mark indicates extreme emotion bordering on a conniption fit.
