1920s and 30s slang for a d-ld- or an item used as such. (c-ke bottles were most common.)

thought to be a misspelling (based on the african american pr-nunciation) of “derringer,” a type of pistol.

often used when referring to the “fatty arbuckle scandal” of 1921.
i caught my girl pushing a darringer last night, so i guess she don’t need me no more.
