RTP Control Protocol


RTP control protocol or RTCP, forms part of the RTP protocol used to carry VoIP communications. RTCP monitors the quality of service (QoS) and to convey information about the participants in an on-going session. It is based on the periodic transmission of control packets to all participants in the session, using the same distribution mechanism as the data packets.
