Dick Typing
a style of dynamic typing of object-oriented programming languages, basically structural typing at runtime.
although it had been suggested by e. dijkstra in a paper already decades ago, it remained unnoticed for a long time. only recently it has been rediscovered and hyped to death with programming languages such as ruby and python. (sometimes falsely referred to as ‘duck typing’).
definition: “if it smells like a d-ck and tastes like a d-ck, it must be a d-ck”.
joe: what’s that new hype in object-oriented programming, ‘d-ck typing’. is it worth contemplating?
bob: nah, the problem is, if it smells like a d-ck and tastes like a d-ck, it could be a dragon doing a d-ck impersonation. you may not always want to let dragons into your -ss, even if they can impersonate a d-ck.
when you have a b-n-r (also called b-n-r typing), you type with your d-ck on the keyboard.
