Digidentity
a contraction for “digital ident-ty.”
a self-imposed alias for one’s exploits within the digital realm, such as video games or the internet.
used just like “ident-ty” is used, but in congruence with and reference to the digital.
while a mere screen name or avatar may change from website to website, one’s digident-ty generally remains the same.
it is common to see multiple spelling variations (often with differing suffix numbers), changes in capitalization, differing avatar photos, etc.
fanmattai is my digident-ty; i use it for everything.
though sometimes i will drop the “fan,” or one of the “t”‘s depending upon the application.
