drinking narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder induced by alcohol consumption and characterized by overwhelming daytime drowsiness and sudden attacks of sleep. if the urge becomes overwhelming, patients fall asleep for periods lasting from a few minutes to several hours and fall asleep at inappropriate times and places such as bars and restaurants. drinking narcolepsy should not be confused with p-ssing out as a drinking narcolep will fall asleep, rally, drink some more, only to fall asleep again. this cycle is repeated throughout the day and into the evening.
tara’s drinking narcolepsy was out of control up at lutsen. she drank and snowboarded all day, fell asleep on the chairlift, fell asleep after snowboarding, fell asleep after hottubbing, and fell asleep in the restaurant.
