in seattle winters heavy rain, even steady drizzle is atypical. umbrellas are rarely necessary, or seen. no doubt one can get caught in an occasional downpour, but it won’t last.
however, there is a continuous, ongoing drip or “driple,” in seattle, that keeps the ground and everything else wet all winter. a kind of unsteady, intermittent drip, drip, drip.
