dwightism
a broad term used to describe an act, typically performed by a dwight or by someone with dwight-like tendencies.
generally, this act concerns an obsession with unimportant details, concerns making a big deal out of nothing, and/or doing whatever possible to make his/her job seem more
important than it is.
dwightisms are normally amusing (to those not directly involved) but usually irritating.
“my day was going well until the dwight in my office emailed me that he would be away from his desk for 10 minutes to go to the bathroom. and he sent me a meeting invite for a conference call he won’t even be on.”
“did you see that steve’s screensaver is anime? what a dwightism.”
