dysvocabulum


the phenomenon of using an incorrect word, spelled properly, when emailing, texting, chatting, or instant messaging. sometimes, it is a h-m-nym and sometimes just a word similar in letters and length. often, this seems to be the result of fingers typing and brain thinking out of sync.

examples of dysvocabulum include:

“i really blue that one!” (blew)

“make sure you same your doc-ment.” (save)
he must suffer from dysvocabulum (d.v.), because he just imed me to, “do it the write way.”
