Eccles Cake
an eccles cake is a native of the lancashire town of eccles.
eccles cakes are very closely related to the neighbouring salfordians but like to maintain their own ident-ty. the eccles accent is not unlike the salford and ‘north’ manchester accent but retains an ever so slight bit of lancashire tw-ng (or yonner speak) though this is expected to die out totally in the near future.
eccles cake pastimes include looking for things to steal (usually in affluent neighbouring areas such as monton and worsley as there is nothing worth stealing in eccles) ,looking for people to do harm to and getting very drunk. many do spend most of their days going about practising these ancient pastimes.
